Op-positions : commitment and cultural identity in contemporary photography from Japan, Canada, Brazil, The Soviet Union and The Netherlands
edição Bas Vroege e Hripsimé Visser
In front of you lies the catalogue of the main exhibition at the second Fotografie Biennale Rotterdam. (...) This catalogue (...) consciously employs the 'classical' division into countries in order to provide the reader with Information about specific national characteristics. (...)
Whereas FBR I (Questioning Europe) attempted to give a picture of contemporary photography in ten European countries, the focus this time is worldwide, featuring major countries like the Soviet Union, Brazil, Canada and Japan, in addition to the host country The Nether-lands.
